Colorado Springs, Colorado Speed Traps

On the west part of flintrige past academy there are often motorcycle officers running radar on the side streets, the speed limit is low (35) and one often speeds without relizing it, i have never seen cars, only motorcycles.

Okay anyone going South on Academy and that passes the Arc Thrift Store and Taco Bell start going the speed limit. Cops will often sit to the right of the road, especially as you approach the I-25 exit, and get closer to Fort Carson. Luckily I’ve seen them everytime. Going North never seems to be a problem.

East bound on Barnes just before Powers as You top the hill they set up radar in the weeds off to the right. I haven’t been busted there because I know they’re always there.

They park a big white Durrango on Spring Ranch & North Carefree (just north of Sand Creek HS)…behind the Durrango is two motorcycle cops hiding. They are targeting cars that are both eastbound and westbound. Very sneaky.

17 Mar 05: Colorado Springs published a NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) warning of a Colorado State Patrol Cessna that would be transiting airspace above I-25 between Monument and Parker. I assume this is for traffic speed monitoring purposes–be careful!
