Colorado Springs, Colorado Speed Traps
Centennial & 30th
I’ve seen cars parked by the pizza place behind the gas station.
1-2 Miles Before Woodmen and Academy
There are at least 2 motorcycle cops who like to hang out at a coned-in median approaching this intersection. This entire section is a “construction zone” though the place where the cops hang out has no flagmen, roadside workers. Most of the construction is focused on the Woodmen and Academy intersection where the overpass bridge is currently being built.
How do I know? Today, I had to accelerate to pass a car doing well below 30 mph speed limit and got tagged by one of these cops. This happened at the very far side of the construction zone where there is nothing but dirt mounds and nothing tied to construction. This is a speed trap… don’t even think that this isn’t part of the construction zone because it is.
Oh, and one more thing… if you get “caught” speeding in a construction zone in C. Springs… your fine will be DOUBLED. Hefty fines. I learned the hard way. AVOID THIS AREA… cops are monitoring this area because most people speed (which is understandable given the arbitrary nature of both the speed limit and the construction zone boundaries). Beware.

Police on Motorcycles sit by an abandoned building at the bottom of the hill. While coming down the hill they will pull you over for speeding. They will cross into traffic to pull you over. They always clock you in at least 12 mph over the speed limit. Resulting in 4 points and high tickets. Never fails that they always have an officer here.
