Colorado Springs, Colorado Speed Traps
Centennial Blvd across from Mormon temple
Centennial Blvd changes speed limits about 6 times in a 1 mile stretch. The new construction on the west side of Centennial allows cops the ability to hide on a new street, invisible from the main street. Just as the speed limit drops from 40 to 35, (again) they nab you from 100 yards up the hidden street. When driving Centennial, watch the speed limits closely!
Unitah and 25th
The trap is at the bottom of the hill going East. The start the MPH at 35 at the top. Drop it again shortly to 30. Then again to 25 there after. Unitah is one of the prime roads to through the Westside. Traffic moves naturally faster. One doesn’t notice that the down hill is picking up speed as the trap quickly requires downward speed. They make a killing on this trap.
Southbound Powers close to Airport
At night CSPD likes to park on the Median (against traffic laws) and on the pull off facing toward oncoming traffic (probably against traffic laws) around 3 and 4 AM.
24E-W between Powers and 94
Cop in a squad car sits on either side of the Peterson Rd. bridge usually very early morning hours.
Marksheffel Rd. between 24 and N. Carefree
Cops are all down this stretch because of construction and are usually blacked out hiding behind something during the early morning rush to base.
