Littleton, Colorado Speed Traps
Interstate 470 near Santa Fe Street
Beware of driving West on C-470 before reaching Santa Fe. As you go over the hill, sometimes you can see the cop car, motorcycle, or truck hiding on the other side of the overpass peeking out with his gun. As you go down the hill he has the gun pointed and because of his angle and you and he become more visible. He has you. As you go under Santa Fe, on your left in between the lanes, there is an emergency dirt path so that emergency vehicles can change from Westbound to Eastbound. I have seen motorcycle cops get people from both directions. So just because you have cleared Santa Fe does not mean you are out of the woods yet.
Along Sante Fe between Bowles and Dartmouth
This is actually a combination of Littleton police, Sheridan police, and Englewood police, as this stretch of Sante Fe crosses all three districts. There is commonly a Littleton SUV patrol unit parked at the Bowles/Sante Fe intersection to start off the fun, and motorcycle units and cars placed strategically along the median area along the HOV lane. Watch out, as they pull over people for speeding and for HOV lane violations.
Wadsworth Blvd between Bowles and C470
Coming North on Wadsworth from C470 you may see a car off to right side of the road. He has the radar. Over the hill are anywhere from 2-6 Jeffco Sheriff’s cruisers just waiting to pull you over. Have also seen the sam with 4 officers on motorcycles each with their own radar/laser.
Arbutus Street, Access to Red Rocks Community College
Access to College is wide, low-volume 4 lane street but limit is only 30mph. Regularly enforced by Campus Police, who can issue real citiations (for practice?)
South Prince Street
This street is regularly patrolled by Littleton Police Department marked and unmarked vehicles. They will use radar on this hilly road to catch the unsuspecting motorist who is not constantly vigilant of his speed. Posted speeds are 30mph.
