Littleton, Colorado Speed Traps
Bowles Avenue near Pierce Street
There is usually one or two Jeffco cruisers/bikes sitting near or behind the Clement Park sign. I’ve seen them sometimes during the night hours as well as morning as you are heading toward Pierce on Bowles near the park.
Kipling Parkway near Ken Caryl Street
Kipling (usually northbound) between Chatfield and Ken Caryl. At the crest of that small hill, I have often seen officers.
Dry Creek Road near Arapahoe High School
This trap is right smack in the middle of a school zone. At the corner of University and Dry Creek sits Arapahoe High School, and across Dry Creek from the school is an alleyway behind a small strip mall. Not only is it a school zone, but as of right now it is also construction. And the speed limit drops very suddenly. Cops sit right out in the open and still nab people all the time.
Mineral Avenue near Broadway west to Santa Fe
Often Littleton Police hide behind some bushes at a building/parking lot entrance on the north side of Mineral between Windermere and Broadway. With their light off and motor running they are particularly well hidden at night. The 40 MPH speed limit is tough to adhere to when there is little or no traffic. Beware.
Prince Street
Littleton Police routinely patrol Prince Street south from Santa Fe to Mineral. Be careful of the multiple hills that restrict viewing oncoming vehicles as they are probably police. The new low profile lights on the roof of their SUV’s make them hard to see at a distance and Littleton uses several unmarked vehicles as well. The speed limit is 30 MPH and is all along a residential area. Sometimes they sit on the side streets just north of Ridge Road and catch speeders going both north and south. Beware of the motorcycle crew during the summer months.
