Miami, Florida Speed Traps
NW 135th Street near Opa Locka Boulevard
Policemen with motorcycles are appearing more frequently lately, almost everyday. This is a posted 30 MPH way, but it’s easy to reach 40 or 45 MPH. They hide on the left side of the street, very close to the shoulder to Opa-Locka Blvd (westbound).
Southwest 1st Street near Southwest 5th Avenue
Motorcycle cops congregate on the right side of the road just before the bridge on 1st St. SW as you drive towards downtown. It is difficult to see them because of the sun. Every motorist is exceeding the speed limit (30 mph) as they accelerate to go over the bridge (and because 1st St. is a multi-lane road — 4 lanes? 5? towards downtown). It’s easy pickings for them — they pull over car after car after car. Watch out.
64th Street near 72nd Avenue
Usually enforced as soon as the morning rush dies down. One officer is hidden(very hidden), clocking speed, and motorcycle officer pulls you over two houses down; they have no problem giving their own mother a ticket.
State Route 836 near NW 97th Avenue
Work Zone 45mph limit not very clearly marked
107th NW Avenue near 25th NW Street
MIAMI (Doral area NW)
(Speed trap)
107th avenue heading north exactly at intersection of 25th street (also if on the far right lane at the light make sure that you make a right on 25th street (do not keep going north on 107th ave) or an officer will be waiting for you as soon as you cross 25th street north. The right turn only sign is to the right on the aluminum pole, by the time you see it, (if you see it at all) will be too late. There is not a pre warning sign a few yards before as there should be. The pavement is marked right turn only but it is not visible in back to back traffic which is the norm (I think I just figured how he got me) and others for that matter (it is ticket heaven for these guys)
By the way the officer is a block away ready to pounce (where 26 street should be but is a corporate parking on the right behind a thick bush that is by a sidewalk (car parked out of sight) he actually walks onto 107th from behind the bush to stop you and pull you into a corporation parking spot on the right.
Warn others in the area (this kind of ticket is over 130.00 dollars)
If one person avoids an accident or ticket from reading this Im happy J
