Miami, Florida Speed Traps
NW 11 Street between 27 Avenue and 37 Avenue
Officers park on the side of the road and target east and west bound drivers mostly around 28th and 29th Avenues.
Kendall Drive near Krome Avenue
Speed limit drops from 50 mph to 40 mph around a curve, going west toward Krome. Police car seen on median, but only after completing the curve. If you haven’t slowed down by then, it’s too late.
826/Palmetto Expressway between 88th St. and 72 St. exits – Northbound
The officer is on a motorcycle on the side of the road and is very difficult to see because of a curved slope. You pretty much don’t see him until you’re speeding downhill, and by that time he’s got the laser on you and it’s too late.
Northbound SW 122 ave between SW 128th st and 120th st traffic light.
Usually 5-6pm a few cops will hide out in the side streets of the neighborhood. It’s just after the stop sign where signature gardens is, heading north just before 120th st. 35mph zone, but can be safely travelled at around 45mph. as a side note, there is another cop parked facing south on the patch of grass on the NW corner of the SW 120th ST/122 ave intersection in the mornings to catch those that like to skip past the left lane back up of cars trying to turn onto 122nd ave (south).
Eastbound SW 120th st between SW 122 ave and 132 ave
a few metro dade motorcycle cops like to hide out in the median of this small stretch of windy road. it’s technically residential, so the limit is 35mph even though the road can be safely travelled at 45mph. they usually hide out in the mornings, but be weary at any time of day.
i was nailed july of ’02 but i’ve still seen them every now and then.
