Sarasota, Florida Speed Traps
US Highway 41 near 17th Street
Going south on Tamiami Trail, black undercovers (plural) sit on the right side in a private gated driveway shooting laser. Just south of Ringling School of Art one will cross a canal (with a hotel on right) crest a hill and then he will be on the right. Mostly during morning commute, southbound. Hell tag anyone nice cars, disheveled cars anything to get the quota.
Ibis Road near Hawkins Road
Two or Three officers with radar/laser guns hide out on Baxter Lane (the little side street just before Hawkins Rd) and clock cars coming from Serenoa Lakes and Serenoa Gulf Course communities during the early am rush. The speed limit is 35mph, but since this is a country back road it is easy to go much faster. I was clocked from 850 feet away and my radar/laser detector did not go off.
