State Route 319 near Woodward Avenue
Big money maker for TPD. A cop will sit West of woodward avenue on Tennessee street just before the Jimmy Johns and Laser cars just as they come over the hill as you pass The north end of Florida State University campus
US Highway 20 West near Capital Circle
Typically at night, 3-4 cruisers will sit at bottom of hill at bank parking lot, in-line while one will sit on north side of median with radar gun and will tag cars coming over hill. At the hill/bridge the speed limit drops from 35 to 45 (at night it’s hard to see sign) because the Leon County Sheriff jail is near and TCC is on right of road.
Aenon Church Road near US Highway 90 West
Highway Patrol & Leon County Sheriff’s Use This Area to Target Speeding and DUI Checks. Usually they park in the parking lot of the contruction company at the railroad crossing.
Deer Lake Road near US Highway 319 at Killearn Lakes Plantation
Single-lane road that feels more lake a two-lane road. Look for Killearn Lakes Plantation entrances off of US Highway 319 (Thomasville Road); Tequesta Road; and Bull Headley Road.
This is a proven money maker for the Leon County Sheriff’s Department (based on articles in the Tallahassee Democrat). The speed limit is 35, but drivers who are pulled over usually are driving 45-60 miles per hour.
