Tallahassee, Florida Speed Traps
Thomasville Road near Betton Crossing
Travelling North on Thomasville Road, coming from sixth-seventh avenue. Road has a down slope so vehicles tend to gain speed. Cops sit in the parking lot of small mall on right hand side (cinema).
Oakridge Road near on the curve on Oakridge Road
There is a curve on Oakridge Road in the township of Woodville just South of Tallahassee. Leon County Deputy Sherrifs sit on the side of the road at this curve near the “turn in”” to a County Dump site. They have been ticketing the people of Woodville at this spot for years. Oakridge Road is a rural road and the spped limit is set too low at 35 miles per hour all the way from Woodville to the curve on Oakridge Road. This whole stretch of hyway should be set at 45 miles per hour. Deputies hide at this spot once or twice a month and have been ticketing people on this curve for years.”
Park Avenue Street near Blairstone Street
Tallahassee cops regularly set up a speed trap on Park Ave. near Blairstone. The most usual time that I have observed them is in the late morning to mid-day before lunch.
Bannerman Road near Church
Coming down Bannerman Road from Thomasville Road, there is a new church just finished (on the left before the light at Tekesta Road), the cops like to hide in the parking driveway of the new church. There are trees and bushes on either side of the driveway so its impossible to see the cop in time.
Interstate 10 near The Baum Road Overpass
As you are heading east on I-10 this trap is espically true for weekends and holidays they have thin white lines on the I-10 road that run vertical they are in .25 miles gaps in which they use a plane from above to track you, and sitting at the overpass is plenty of FHP anywhere from 1-10 FHP waiting to bust you and all of the pack speeders with tickets that is sent from above
