Tallahassee, Florida Speed Traps
Interstate 10
Watch as you head east on I-10 from Tallahassee to Jacksonville. My cousin was on this stretch and was driving 85 mph in a 70 mph and received a ticket by mail. They had clocked him by airplane. Warning, if driving this stretch of I-10, please check above you for a suspecting airplane clocking your speed. Enjoy the ride and please look up once in a while on this stretch of freeway.
Tennessee Street
Going west on Tennessee Street just before Leon High school and Meridian Road. Usually late evening/night. One cop standing on the sidewalk with a laser and tags people coming from the 45mph to the 35mph zone. He simply walks into the road and directs cars into the Leon High parking lot to be ticketed assembly line fashion by cops waiting there.
500 West Tharpe
This is a school zone that operates between 8:00am until 9:15am. Police will get you if you are at 28 miles an hour or above. This spot is good for them to get thier quota.
Park Ave.
Coming from Magnolia there is a hill comoing down and most people seem to coast down it getting to speeds of 50+ mph and now that is 4 land it is inviting to speeders. The site in the turn ins near blairstone looking straight up the hill. I have seen a number of people get pulled over from coming down that hill
Miccosukee Road, From Doomar Drive to Capital Circle NE
Local police literally hide in the bushes on new BMW motorcycles, paid for in part with the speeding tickets from this trap. This section of Miccosukee Road is four lanes wide, with great visibility (that’s why the cops have to hide in the bushes, otherwise they would be plain as day) and has a posted speed limit of 35mph. Once Miccosukee crosses Capital Circle NE, it becomes a two lane canopy road. This narrow, two-lane canopy road portion of Miccosukee is low visibility, has no runoff, and a posted speed limit of 45mph. Am I missing something here?
