Algonquin, Illinois Speed Traps
Haegers Bend Road near West of County Line Road
Speed limit reduced to 25 MPH recently. Cops are taking advantage of unsuspecting drivers because limit is posted very sporadically
State Route 31 near Washington Street
The same officer sits in the first parellel parking spot on the east side of 31 in front of the Algonquin State Bank. This is not so much a speed trap as it is a seatbelt / illegal lane usage trap.
He scans cars for seatbelt use while you are waiting for the light at 62 to change, and beware of crossing the double yellow line to get into the westbound 62 turning lane, as you will get ticketed for that as well.
Randall Road near Huntley Road
Officer sits about 1/2 mile N. of the Dominicks at Huntley & Randall Rd. He is on the east side right where the tree line begins. He can radar people going N. or S. By flashing your Brights at oncoming cars, you can let them know he’s there.
State Highway 62 near Harrison Street
The police vehicle is parked in the lot on the south side of Port Edwards restaurant. They are obviously targeting drivers coming off of the Fox River bridge.
Randall Road near Harnish Street
The officers setup in the swale between Huntington & Harnish. You come over the top and they have got you… maybe. FYI: The police station/village hall is right off of Harnish so enforcement is unusually high.
