Chicago, Illinois Speed Traps
State Highway 59 near Conte Street
Marked 4WD unit parked at corner of Conte and Rt 59 monitors southbound traffic coming down from the railroad overpass. Unmarked units wait along sidestreets and pick up vehicles tagged by the 4WD.
South California Street near 31st Street

W Belmont Avenue near N Kedzie Avenue
This is the one that gets everyone. BE VERY CAREFUL when going on Belmont at Kedzie through the underpass where I-90/94 is. You will never see it. But there is a black camera hidden in such a stealth way, many unsuspecting motorists have been nailed by this. Don’t run any red lights and keep the speed limit at around 25 mph. Cus this camera is truly on top of its game. And you won’t have a chance in court against a radar camera. Exercise caution at this intersection at all times.
Lake Shore Drive near Exit Number Randolph
When heading south on Lake Shore Drive, right before the Randolph street exit, on the bridge…if you look on the right side there is a hidden spot behind the post of the bridge. A cop will be hiding there and shoot you with radar/laser. You can’t see him until you’ve passed him.
Damen Street near 14th Street
As traveling north bound on Damen (2000 West) from 16th Street (1600 South) a UIC state police officer is always running RADAR. Since they are State Police Officers they ALWAYS write tickets. I live in the area and see then tow a lot of cars too. I’ve only see them stop North bound cars at that location.
