Gurnee, Illinois Speed Traps
Leonard Drive and Darnell Road
Leonard Drive is 25 mph and you tend to speed up as you come down a hill going south. The Gurnee cops sit back a bit on Darnell and nab you.

Fuller Road near Boulders Drive
A police car will sit at the public works building located on Fuller Rd. at the Boulders subdivision entrance. Because he is tuckecd back off of the road, you can’t see him until it’s too late and he has locked your speed into his radar.
Dilley’s Road near Lawson Boulevard
Police cars will sit on the access road to the Pembrook water tower on Dilley’s road across from Gold’s Gym. Trafic coming from both directions can’t see the car as it’s considerably off the road. By the time you see the police car, it’s too late as he has already locked your speed in the radar.
State Route 120 near State Route 21
During the summer months I’ve seen where they will backup 4 or 5 sheriff’s on the east bound entrance on to 120 coming off of Milwaukee (Rt 21). They have one cop standing on the bridge clocking everyone heading east. You can’t see the squads because they’re protected by the hill and it’s difficult to see the copper standing on 21 with his gun clocking everyone and radio’ing in the speeders. Then you pass the bridge and see 3 or 4 people all pulled over down by the expressway entrance getting tickets.
