Peoria, Illinois Speed Traps

Police cars hide beside buildings that are close to the road in a stretch of Rt 8 from I-74 to just east of Rosedale. This area is 4-lane and posted limit is 35mph. This area is heavily patrolled. Number of times I’ve seen them hiding is quite variable from 0 to nearly every day some weeks.

Noticed a recent increase of City Police sitting in the nook outside the colorful building across War Mem/150 from Goodwill and Journal Star building trapping cars going East down the hill there – it is impossible to go the speed limit there without riding your brakes – and flow of traffic moves along – have gotten a ticket there myself and noticed people pulled over on or after bridge several times in the last couple weeks, and there has been a Cop sitting there many times in last couple weeks too.

Traveling north on Sheridan radar is set as you are crossing over the I-74 overpass and coming down a hill. Speed limit is 30mph.

Usuassly one on top of overpass shooting radar and then 3 or 4 sitting on the Gale Ave ramp going East.

Just past Share-Foods in 2100 block of N. Adams, last of the 3 lane, one way road, cops sit left side, behind trees backed into a building like any other parked car. Sometimes they do sit on other side of road in a drive way. This is also a common sight for road blocks by State Police.
