Indianapolis, Indiana Speed Traps
East Street near Markwood Avenue
When going north on East St., speed limit drops from 45 to 40 once you cross over I-465. Officer sits three blocks north of I-465. Also, when taking exit 2A off of I-465, there is no visible speed limit sign for East St., so people tend to merge onto northbound East St. at interstate speeds. Officer sits just three blocks north of exit and pulls someone over an average of one every 5 – 10 minutes. Be Careful and Slow Down in this area. He’s there several times a week and can be there at any time of the day.
Int #65 Expressway near Exit Number 104
Indiana State Police motorcycle and/or car limit is 55 on Int65 thru Indianapolis nailed me moving with other traffic at 66MPH, $150.00 ticket
Michigan Road near 61st Street
I was northbound on Michigan Rd. at 61st St. and the IMPD car was lying in wait in the driveway of the Catholic School. An SUV shot around me and the cop took off and I let him out of the drive. Coming back later (southbound) at the same location another SUV flew around me and a policeman on foot stepped out and stopped both of us. He directed the other guy to the side and signaled me to go on.
I-465 Bypass near Exit Number 25
If you continue on I-465 E beyond the 865W/65N and 465E split, there is a brief section of 465 that dips into Boone county for a few miles. This is where Boone Co officers like to wait late evenings with radar. They normally sit at a spot right after the point where 865 E and 465 E merge.
Meridian near 41st and 43rd Steets east and west
during non rush hours, police will park off the north and south oriented Meridian St. and Illinois St. usually on 41st or 43rd streets (going east and west) and use radar to pull you over (out of traffic an onto the side street) I have been nabbed twice but got warnings both times since I have disabled veteran plates. It has slowed me down.
