Indianapolis, Indiana Speed Traps
Interstate I-74 near Post Road
I travel I-74 from Shelbyville into Indianapolis daily anytime between 5:30 to 6:45 a.m. They love to pull over the semi’s headed East right after the Post Road Exit. Since I drive a car, I now tend to have a false sense of security, since it seems they only target truckers. If on the rare occassion they have a car or regular truck pulled over, I figure that person must have had to do something really bad:-)
62nd Street
The New Augusta Academy is just to the north of 62nd Street. Police sit tucked in behind tree lines on cross streets to clock you. Beware: New Augusta Academy is a year-round school, and drivers aren’t aware that school is in session during periods of summer and get you for a school zone violation. I live on 62nd, and the police will spend full days pulling people over.
Interstate I-70 E near Exit Number 90
Troopers set behind bridge abuttment where median wall is split in center of road and approx. 1 mile further east (91.5MM) in median where I70 changes from 2 to 3 lanes
State Highway 56 street near Raceway Road
Be careful on 56 street when crossing the Eagle Creek reservior. There are four lanes and there is a tendency to speed. On many occasion there is a police car hidden in the middle of the street at the water pump station and also at times on the east side where the four lane ends. It seems they are trying to catch many from Brownsberg that travel to work or shop in Indianapolis.
Interstate 465 near Emerson Avenue
At 465 and Emerson exit 1 or sometimes 2 troopers have a "semi" stopped. I traveled past this exit 4 times this week and in previous weeks, someone is ALWAYS, I repeat ALWAYS stopped between 0730 and 0800. I am not sure where they are hiding but they always stop truckers. Isn’t gas expensive enough without hassling out truckers??
