Des Moines, Iowa Speed Traps
Euclid & 6th Avenue
There is the same offer sitting near Euclid every morning. He usually sits near the intersection of 6th & Euclid but I’ve seen him as far up as 14th and Euclid. I’ve been caught by him before, and almost every morning I see him busting someone else.
SE 6th and Hartford
A patrol car sits in the parking lot of the Firehouse Lounge, right across the street from the fire station. When traveling north you can’t see him until you’re right beside the lounge. Speed limit is 30.
Fleur Drive near Grand Avenue
The officers like to sit just south of Grand Avenue in one of several small, hidden driveways near Waterworks Park and Gray’s Lake. I usually see them in the early morning and late evening. The speed limit is 40 and the officers are difficult to see. Be careful!
Interstate 235 near MLK Boulevard
From Euclid to MLK on 235.
Often 2 Patrol Cars per stopping, Usually you will see 5-8 sets of persons pulled over in less than 0.5mi.
Intensive enforcement.
Speed Lmt in zone is 55, often I have witnessed persons going as low as 45 still getting stopped.
I have been stopped multiple times as well.
They have unmarked Pedestrian vehicles parked on inside of hwy radaring, onramps are polluted with patrol cars.
Be very cautious here, stay within a pack of vehicles.
Usually your pack needs to go under 50mph through this 55 zone to be left alone.
