Olathe, Kansas Speed Traps
127th between Blackbob and Mur-Len
About a mile east of Mur-Len, police sit in the south side parking lot to the public swimming pool/park. They radar cars going both east and west on 127th with excellent visibility in either direction.
I am aware they are their and have not been ticketed, but i see someone pulled over every week. Extra caution when time for locoal schools to let out.
Highway 7 just south of K-10
When the posted speeds drop by 10 mph and then by another 10 mph, pay careful attention….as those who don’t are doomed to be victims. It is very easy to miss a sign and it is even easier for Olathe police to consume their prey. I’ve only noticed the southbound trap (as you are supposed to be decreasing speed), however if you are speeding out of town….be aware.
123rd & Ridgeview
Probably one of the most well known cop tagging areas. Cops sit on 123rd terrace clocking drivers headed north past Santa Fe Trail Jr. High. You are GUARANTEED to run into a pair of them when school lets out.
116th St. East of Strang Line
Cops sit in business parking lots tagging folks driving out of the Homestead Apartments. They are particularly around Saturday & Sunday mornings.
127th and Pflumm
It is 45 on 127th as you are heading west. Once you cross Pflumm, it changes to 35. But at the same time, you go downhill quickly. Cops will sit down at the bottom and get you every time. You have to creep or break the whole time to not get a ticket. I explained to the cop that even though I slowed down from the 45 mph area, the descent added speed. She said other cars have managed not to go over. Meanwhile, there was already another car pulled over up ahead and she pulled both myself and the guy behind me over for tickets. Today is the last day of the month. I guess they needed to meet their quota.
