Lexington, Kentucky Speed Traps
Near I 64 and I 75 Split, I 64 West Bound
Lexington PD is running stationary radar on I64 East and West bound and on I75 North and South bound. The most nefarious one is just as you are coming into Lexington on I64 West near the I64/I75 split. There is a barrier between the East and West bound lanes and the officer sits on your left in a slight curve against that barrier where you can’t see him until you are on top of him. They are writing tickets like crazy at that location.
Southpoint at Veteran’s Park
An officer sits here once or twice a week. I have seen them there for a long time and he finally got me. On the plus side, he is very pleasant and very curious.
Reynolds rd
In the area between the Fayette Mall and Clays Mill Rd there is an unfinished road on the side and cops sit there at night and ticket you and the speed limit is only 35 and its a 4-lane road, so it should be 55.
Lexington City limit
Be especially aware on the days/nights that UK is playing sports and you have a out of state or different county license plate. Because you are visiting for the game, paying the price for the tickets, the cost of your trip, you are considered a likely revenue source. If you stop at a restaurant, don’t drink at all, as they watch you when you leave the restaurant parking lot.
The overpass I-75 and Man O War exit 109
One police car sits (hides) on the overpass of Man O War and uses radar on the cars going north and south bound (under the overpass) on I-75. There are police cars waiting for his call on both north and south bound ramps. I spotted the police car sitting on the bridge one day. As I went under, I saw him with the radar clocking cars going North bound thats when I looked over and saw a cruiser sitting, waiting for him to give the call. Moments later, out of no where, the car in front of me got pulled over! (Lucky me that day)
