Livonia, Michigan Speed Traps
Stark Road near Plymouth Road
On Stak between Plymouth and Hines Dr. They sit in residential driveways in marked and unmarked cars just waiting fo you to come by. The speed limit is way to slow for the street so people are always getting caught. They don’t just pull you over for speeding either, rolling stop @ stop sign,no seat belt, etc. They are really bad right now because Livonia just purchased a bunch of new Mustangs and they need to pay for them
Hubbard Street near Bridge
Hubbard is a main thoroughfare between I-96 and 6 Mile Road.
There is a church, school and is also a fire route. Generally the speed trap is located by the bridge over the Rouge River which is between Five Mile and Six Mile near Myrna Street. There is no set time for the police car to be hidden in this location. The speed limit is 35 miler per hour. Cars tend to speed through this area which is dangerous due to people walking on the side of the road and the school area. Best beware!
Schoolcraft Road near Farmington Road
West bound on Schoolcraft rd., turning right (north) onto Farmington Rd. Two lanes can turn right. Make sure when turning right, you stay in your lane. If you crossover, too soon to the left, they’ll get you.
Middlebelt Road near Plymouth Road
Police are waiting in the Ford parking lot at the bottom of the hill, just as you cross underneath the railroad tracks, while you are travelling southbound. There are no safety issues that I can tell because the road is 3 lanes each direction with a middle turn lane. The police are positioned so they can clock right when you reach maximum speed at the bottom of the hill. I have been told by employees at the McDonald’s across the street that the police will nail as many as 15-20 cars just during the lunch hour.
Middlebelt Road near Puritan Street
The police regularly wait on Puritan Street next to the LaSalle Bank. They regularly watch for people running the traffic light. Watch out for this traffic light. If it turns yellow, stop at all costs. It is small and not very visible, and the yellow light doesn’t last very long, giving you a very limited time to react. I regularly see people pulled over during the hours of 3-6pm.
