Novi, Michigan Speed Traps

The speed limit on Wixom Road is 50 mph north of Grand River and drops to 35 south of Grand River. Just as you pass the Target on the east side of Wixom, your traps begin. The police sit in 3 to 4 locations between the Target Store and 10 Mile road- proceed with caution!

At Hickory Woods Elementary School there is a traffic light with a very short yellow light. Speed on the road is 45 mph and many a driver has fallen victim to trying to beat the quick yellow. This area is patrolled quite heavily because of the school crossing and the complaints from the crossing guards.

Also 200 yards south of the light is a favorite seat-belt enforcement area. There is an "S curve" and an officer will stand at the road but concealed by a telephone pole. He radios to the 8 or so officers waiting in the bank parking lot near 14 mile.

Meadowbrook Road between 8 Mile Road and 10 Mile Road has a speed limit of 30mph. I often see police waiting for speeders along this 2-mile stretch of road.

Between 8 Mile and 10 Mile Road, Meadowbrook Road is routinely patrolled by police – no time of day is more patrolled than any other. The speed limit is 30 and they’re not kidding. Meadwbrook Road south of 12 Mile Road is also a seat belt trap area.

Cops sit in subdivision entrances and businesses along West Park Dr. The speed limit is 40 but there usually isn’t much traffic so people tend to speed. Also south of West Rd. on West park there is a large hill so coming down the hill watch your speed they like to wait at the bottom.
