Troy, Michigan Speed Traps
E. Wattles Road near Rochester Road
Be careful when travelling west on E. Wattles Rd (Which turns into 17 mile road in Sterling Hts.) If you enter the left hand turning lane to go north on Rochester Rd, be careful because a police officer sits on Worthington Dr. waiting to give people improper lane use tickets if they enter the turning lane too soon. I received the same ticket last year and when I went to court, everyone in the courtroom was fighting the same ticket. All the people before me were forced to pay the ticket and received two points on thier driving records, as did I. I thought to submit this when I saw a woman get the very same ticket yesterday.
Coolidge Road near South 20 Mile Boulevard
I have seen this both in the mid-day and night. Sometime there are three cop cars; they are ALWAYS unmarked cars, impala (Silver) and a trans am (Maroon), I think. The speed limit on the road is 35, but not many people go it. I always find myself speeding, even though I know the limit and don’t speed usually. It’s weird.
Coolidge Road near South Boulevard
1 mile from South Blvd and Square Lake on Coolidge is 35 and the only N/S. All other roads are 45 mph
Interstate 75 near Mile Marker 255
Exit ramp at Big Beaver – I-75 Southbound. Patrol car parks to the right of guard rail at this exit ramp (which also provides quick entrance onto Southbound I-75) with radar (front and rear) and also video tapes the violators.
Rochester Road near Golf Course / Park
Going North or South past Sylvan Glen golf course, there is a patrolman almost all day long in either the church on the West side of Rochester Road, in the Parking lot of Sylvan Glen, or the connecting park. If you breeze by, and at the next light, they will pop you. Don’t go over 50
