Las Vegas, Nevada Speed Traps
Eastern Avenue near Flamingo Road
Northbound and southbound traffic on Eastern Ave between Flamingo Rd and Desert Inn Rd is nailed with radar wielding motorcycle cops and cruisers. Used to live in the area and it is patrolled regularly. This stretch has ruined many folks’ morning commutes as well as late evening trips home. The officers hide in parking lots on the east side of Eastern Ave. The day and time of day is irrelevant. The odds of surviving Russian roulette are probably better than the odds of speeding on this stretch and not getting caught.
215 Loop near Stretch between 215 and Flamingo to 215 and Sunset
There are always officers patrolling this stretch of the 215 on Saturday mornings, the posted speed limit is 65 although traffic is typically traveling at 75mph+. NHP is always on the prowl from what I’ve seen, safest is to observe the speed limit and avoid a ticket.
215 NW side Expressway near W Ann Road
Cop chillin on the SW corner of the intersection.
South Jones Boulevard near West Patrick Lane
Early morning (7-10am), mutiple motorcycle officers are positioned in the Church parking lot on the North East corner of Jones and Patrick w/radar citing vehicles traveling North or South bound in excess of the posted 45 mph speed limit usually on some selective weekends. It is common for most vehicles to be traveling 55-75 mph on this stretch of road boardered by mostly desert; and also, this road is an excellent straightway for speed.
Valley Drive near Red Coach Avenue
Exercise extreme caution! They will pull you over for Anything under the sun! I’ve been pulled over at dusk for having a brake light out. I’ve also been pulled over for not putting my new registration sticker on that very same day! Do Everything Textbook! as in complete stops! it is ridiculous! you might as well go another way because this intersection is ridiculous!
