Swenson Street near Mc Carran International Airport

Las Vegas, NevadaOct 30, 20050 Comments

An officer on foot will hide on the embankment behind the right-shoulder barrier (just past Russell Rd.) and observe vehicles traveling North bound. He will radio ahead to bike officers, whom are stationed south of Tripicana, pointing radar at vehicles coming over the hill, out of the airport bypass. Upwards of 6 to 8 bike officers are there to write tickets, so don’t count on getting away because they’re busy citing other drivers. They do a pretty good job of popping just about everyone by pulling over multiple vehicles per officer.

Recommend fighting all tickets received here, as 35 MPH posted limit is illegal. Repeated observation shows 85th percentile speed to be a minimum of 45mph. Have gone through all the riggamorrow of having it changed, but when it comes down to the policy makers, all efforts are blocked and limit remains 35. It’s been set up as a revinue generator, for sure.

Large group of Motorcycle officers position themselves on the south end of the airport tunnel, pulling over large groups of motorists (presumably only those whom are speeding).

Speed limit is 55 in the tunnel, so watch out cuz they’ll getcha!

Just south of Sahara on Hualapai there have been motorcycle cops parked on side streets and pulling people over. The speed is 45 but most people are travelling around 55 on any given day. Time to slow down!
