Buffalo, New York Speed Traps
State Highway 400 near Transit Rd. Exit
The only trooper I have seen on the 400 is at the last highway turnaround before Transit Road. My friend was caught doing 76 back when it was a 55 at about 10 PM.
Interstate 190 near Exit Number 6/ Smith Street
I have been seen many state troopers pull aside at the Smith street exit to set up a trap on 190-southbound, typically in the afternoon. He pulls just behind the "Exit 7" sign and prks perpendicular to the highway. I have also seen him there in the early AM hours (1-3 am).
Interstate 190 near Tollboths all
Troopers park at all toolboths on the 190. Keep it to 7 over when approaching any tool both, especially when the toll is for traffic going the opposite direction.
Hwy 33 N (away from downtown) Eggert entrance ramp
I used to live on Eggert and see the police car parked at the Eggert entrance ramp for 33 North/West bound towards airport. I still see them parked there and pull over speeding cars.
I-190 North just after the Peace Bridge
Travelling Northbound on I-190, shortly after you go underneath the Peace Bridge, you will crest a hill. There is a Buffalo Sewer Authority pumping station on the right hand side. The law like to sit on the opposite side of this building with their radar guns at the ready. They wait in the short driveway that also serves as the exit for people working at the Sewer Authority building. The speed limit on this 4-lane divided highway is a paltry 55, but most people go 65+. I’ve only seen the police here when the trafic is relatively light, since otherwise, they would be overwhelmed by droves of law breakers. But it would be prudent to be careful here any time of day. You don’t need to worry about this trap if you are travelling south, since the police cannot climb over the concrete divider that separates northbound from southbound traffic.
