Raleigh, North Carolina Speed Traps
Millbrook Road
On Millbrook Road between Six Forks and Falls of Neuse. A 35 zone with enforcement at the bottom of a hill. It is very difficult to maintain 35 on this 4 lane when approaching the bottom of the hill. This is where they can get their quota easily.
Inner & Outer Loops of I-440 between New Bern Ave and I-40E exit.
This trap is Somewhat enforced to High enforcement, changes every couple of weeks. Part of this is stretch is a construction zone. Hidden in bushes and trees in the median and also in plain view just waiting to pick you off. Have seen as many as 5 line up on a exit embankment waiting for drivers to fly under the bridge. Mixed patrol of Marked, Unmarked, and Motorcycle. Mostly City Cops, but occasionally State Trooper and DMV.
The whole town
We like to write tickets to people who can’t seem to obey simple motor vehicle laws and put the rest of the motoring public in danger. The best way not to get a speeding ticket is not to speed.
Buck Jones Rd across from Farmgate Rd
On Buck Jones Rd. between Walnut Street in Cary and Western Blvd in Raleigh. When heading from Walnut St towards Western Blvd down Buck Jones Rd. you cross over town line at top of hill into Raleigh. Speed limit is 35 which you will exceed if you don’t ride your brakes on the way down. At the bottom of the hill, where Farmgate Rd intersects on the left, Raleigh Police hide in the apartment parking lot on the right. Because of the brush you will not see them until it’s too late. They are there everyday
