Raleigh, North Carolina Speed Traps
Buck Jones Road near Buck Jone Road
Coming from Cross Roads and entering Buck Jones Road toward Hillshorough Rd & Western Blvd. Patrol Car sits on the right. It is bottom of big hill where Business goes quickly into residential area. They got me going 54 mph which is easy because of big hill.
Raleigh Boulevard near Rumson Road
Have seen them on motorcycles in the parking lot of the apartment building on Raleigh Blvd and also in the median. Also have seen them in cars waiting. They wait for you to come down the hill and catch you then as you come around the curve and as you are picking up speed coming down the hill.
McDowell Street near Western Boulevard
Marked car sits under the Western Blvd. overpass clocking cars coming into downtown from S. Saunders St. Speed limit drops from 45 to 35 as you go down a hill on a four-lane road with no development beside it. Driver can’t see cop until driver is already clocked.
Green Road near Library
Marked cars sit in the Library and attached Activity Center parking lots. Sometimes 2 cars. Speed limit drops without warning there.
Interstate 40 near Exit Number 315
Two police cruisers sit in the Work Zone between Garner and Clayton. The first cruiser clocks cars traveling toward Wilmington and the second cruiser pulls them. The work zone is post 60 mph. I’ve seen atleast 2 cars everyday pulled for the past 3 weeks during my commute (6:30 am and 5 pm)
