State road 140 Westbound, before the State Road 417 exit

Wilmington, North CarolinaJun 03, 20240 Comments

Cleared out area before exiting off State road 140 Westbound to get onto State Road 417 (Military Cutoff Road extension). The area was used originally as a staging / storage area for the construction equipment and materials when State road 417 was being built. Now it is a deep empty cleared out area. Law enforcement is using the woods bordering this area, along with tucking in deep and unseen to clock speeders and give speeding tickets.

The new state highway “417” from 140 to Gordon Road

Wilmington, North CarolinaDec 19, 20230 Comments

Brand new road opened last week. 45 mph right off of a 70 MPH road. Road is full of blind curves where the state troopers love to hide out. Especially the unmarked and the “ghostmarked” Charger.

I-140, the Chair Road overpass

Wilmington, North CarolinaFeb 06, 20230 Comments

The center pillars for the Chair Road overpass is nicely barricaded and paved around them. I-140 road on both sides approaches this overpass as a blind curve and the Sheriffs Department loves to use this area underneath the overpass as a tuck in point for a speedtrap.

I-140 E – Bottom of the Dan Cameron Bridge, east of US 421

Wilmington, North CarolinaFeb 06, 20230 Comments

The Bridge goes across both US 421 and the Cape Fear River and has both an uphill portion and a downhill portion. At the bottom of the downhill portion on the other side (east) of the river, sometimes either the Highway Patrol or the Sheriffs Department sit there at the bottom tucked in either the grassy median on the left or the “specially made” hidden embankment on the right clocking and pulling.
