Markham, Ontario Speed Traps
14th Avenue near The Water tower
Some times ther is a cop parked in the big water towers driveway, just after the train tracks.
State Highway 7 near Just east of Hwy 48
There is normally a police car parked on Christman, with an officer holding a radar. When he pegs you another officer will walk into the street (hwy 7) and wave you onto christman for your ticket. The trap is located just before the speed limit jumps from 50kph to 70kph
Major Mackenzie Road near Angus Glen Skating Arena
Markham police take advantage of the new Angus Glen Arena to hide in their drive way. Most often they will gun Westbound traffic coming down the hill. By the time you see them is is too late due the elavation changes.
Steeles Avenue near 11th Road
3 or more cruisers wait on 11th line, while a constable mans the LIDAR machine. They wear nearly black uniforms, and are hard to see in the evening. The one I saw was not wearing a reflective safety vest, even while running out into traffic to flag someone down.
14th Avenue near Kennedy Road
Constantly monitered on 14th just East of Kennedy. The speed limit is 50km/h, this is a very common area to catch people going 70+. The area is wide open, and doesn’t constitute 50km/h. Police stand on a side street on the South side of Kennedy.
