US Highway 27 near Exit Number 427 turns into Hwy 27

Toronto, OntarioMay 26, 20040 Comments

As Hwy427 changes into Hwy27 the road curves right under a bridge ( posted speed limit of 60 ) You absolutely cant see them before youre under the bridge – even then the regular 80Kph sign is farther up the road – so its a fair distance at 60. Under the bridge is a construction zone – it has concrete barriers on either side of the two lanes going north. The police enforce this 60 zone whether there are workers present or not.

Blythwood Road near Bayview Avenue

Toronto, OntarioApr 28, 20040 Comments

04/2004 – As mentioned in someone’s 03/2004 entry, once again this month in the a.m. a single Tripod Cop was stationed on Blythwood Rd.(btwn Mt. Pleasant & Bayview Aves.) towards the bottom of that huge, unstoppable downward slope. *Before* the crosswalk at the very bottom where everyone slows down anyway so they don’t maul that weird Crosswalk Guy who randomly waves (you know the one). The cop likes to stand at the point where your car gains natural momentum and you find it ridiculous to slow down. If travelling eastbound on Blythwood, definitely hit the brakes after Mt. Pleasant if possible.

Kipling Road near Dixie Road

Radar and unmarked cruisers rolling all over. Do not speed on this rd. Max is 60. Keep it that way.

Burnamthorpe Road near Burnamthorpe Plaza

Toronto, OntarioApr 13, 20040 Comments

The cruiser is in the Burnamthorpe Plaza parking lot unmarked. The officer has a long cable attached to his gun and hides behind the TTC bus shelter pointing at eastbound cars as they come around the corner. Posted speed is 50K. Most traffic does 60K. 7-93:00 AM daily.

Lawrence Avenue near Allen Road Expressway

Toronto, OntarioMar 28, 20040 Comments

2 alternating traps in the same vicinity.
(a) As you exit the Allen Road Expressway and go East along Lawrence,so you are on the south side of Lawrence Ave, after the first set of light, at the next side street, the police park there cruisers around the corner out of view and one police officier will stand on the side walk, hidden behind a post with his lasar out. Your vision is skewed from seeing the trap until it is too late. (They also sometimes have 2 chaser vechicles waiting in case anyone tries to blow the trap)

(b) In the same vicinity, on the North side of Lawrence Ave, just before you get on the Allen Road Expressway, the police park in the driveway of the school with the laser out hidden behind the cruiser.

I have seen many individuals get nailed in this area. It is a gravy spot for tickets, as the speed drops from 60km to 50km for the school. Whenever in the vicinity of Lawrence and Allen, do not speed.
