Toronto, Ontario Speed Traps
Keele St. (North of St. Clair)
Usually parked in driveway on west side of Keele (it’s some sort of Commercial Building –has an ISO sign on it–they are fairly visible, of course, after they’ve locked you in) they are there to catch southbound late-night drivers as they come ‘flying down the hill’ and around the corners on a nice stretch of road that was ‘built for drivers’
Jones Ave southbound from Danforth
There are 3 schools on Jones ave so the limit for the entire street is 40. Its all downhill from Danforth and you could roll faster than 40km/hr in spots.
The cops park on the west side of the road facing southbound in with the rest of the cars/vans with the radar pointing up the hill – you cant see them until its too late if they are behind a van, if they are behind a car you can usually spot the cherries in time.
They are very strict here as it is a school zone – im not talking about going 20k over or anything crazy -im talking 10k over and you will be at the side of the road. speaking from personal experience….
Eglinton Avenue, just east of Leslie Street
The radar trap sits on the north east corner at Leslie. Driving west you don’t see them until you go over the hill and then it’s too late. They only target westbound vehicles. The speed limit is 60kph but there is a good half mile stretch with no traffic lights and you easily reach speeds of 80 or 90 km. They often target just before or after rush hour and they are freqently there late Saturday or Sunday morning from 9:00 or 10:00 am.
Ossington Avenue just north of College on west side
they are hidden in a driveway right before you hist the insection of Ossington and College
Wilson Ave. westbound between Weston Rd. and Jane St.
As you pass under the railway bridge at least two cruisers are there to nail you on this 50 km/h stretch. Your chance of seeing them? ZERO!!
