Toronto, Ontario Speed Traps
Weston Rd northbound between Wilson and Sheppard
It’s a 50 km/h zone and they will nail you for 55 I KID YOU NOT. The road turns a lot and that’s how they get you.
Sheppard Ave. westbound between Allen Rd. and Keele St.
The road has a big winding wide open curve as you pass the Armed forces base and as you exit it, they’re there waiting with at least two cruisers. You have no chance on this 60 km/h stretch, especially in light mid-day traffic.
Lawrence Avenue & Mt. Pleasant Avenue
I just got nailed last week. I made a right off of Mt. Pleasant onto Lawrence and headed east. The cops were on a small side street called Wanless and they clocked me at 35 over. They are there usually in the evenings, but I have seen them there earlier in the day too.
Exhibition Grounds
We were shocked to realize that the speed limit on the Exhibition grounds is 30km/hr. If you’re using the grounds to avoid the ridiculous traffic on the Lakeshore in the evening beware of the speed limit. We were going 54 and the officer dropped it down to 40 so we wouldn’t lose points.
Islington/401 area
Going Southbound on Islington before the 401 (going towards Rexdale Mall) once you go over Elmhurst and pass the cross-walk they are cops usally waiting for you at the bottom of the hill with the radar gun at the street at the bottom of the hill. Same with going Northbound on Islington once you pass Rexdale mall they are waiting on top of the hill right at the cross-walk on the street. 50km zone.
