Welland, Ontario Speed Traps
Sauer Rd. @ Southworth
Regular speed traps are on Sauer Rd. pointed to Southwork. They check for speeds as well as stopping at the 4 way stop. 40 limit in this area since it is a school zone.
Ontario Rd. @ Canadian Polish Society hall
NRP regularly sit in the rear of the parking lot of the Polish hall. East Bound traffic about to go over the tracks doesn’t have a chance to see them.
Memorial Park
Memorial Park Drive is only a 60 zone, yet people often do more. They regularly sit at the South end in the pool parking lot which is blinded by trees, Also they sit at the back of the baseball diamonds on the East side of the road. Especially at night, the reflectors on the cruisers are not visible. You don’t see them until they’re already after you.
406 @ East Main
Heading Southbound to the end of Provincial highway 406 there if often an unmarked OPP cruiser. That end of the 406 is an 80 zone but people regularly do 100. When approaching that final S bend before East Main, SLOW DOWN. They sit at the end of that bend off the oncoming lane, ready to pick you off in either direction!
South Pelham Rd. @ Wellspring Community Church
When driving down South Pelham Rd., there is usually an NRP cruiser sitting alongside the church (near Webber Rd). If heading toward Webber Rd., it will be too late. Almost every time I drive by there is an officer parked there.
