Erie, Pennsylvania Speed Traps
West 38th Street just east of Asbury Road
This has been a very nasty speed trap for years, and is frequently manned. Millcreek police sit in cars hidden in driveways near the intersection of West 38th Street and Buckthorn Drive, just east of Asbury Road, and watch for speeders going east or west exceeding the 35 mph speed limit.
Route 20 east of approx. 1 mile east of Fairview.
State police will set up radar either at the bottom of walnut Creek hill in either direction. Road is 4 lane and speed limit is 45. They also will set up on the west side of the hill near the gymnastics business catching speeders in both directions. Being a wide open 4 lane highway, people have a hard time maintaining the 45 mph limit.
Grubb Road south of Sterrettania.
Speed limit changes from 45 mph to 35 mph right before traffic light at trhe intersection of Sterrettania and Grubb.
Glenwood Park Ave., South of 38th St.
1. North of W. Gore Rd. they Park on West side in dirt road and can get cars going both ways. Also on west side in parking lot between the zoo and picnic area. There is a dirt parking area across from zoo on east side of Glenwood Park Ave., where they also park.
I 79 1 Mile S of McKean Exit
There is a center median "roadway" that is located one mile South of the Mckean Exit. State Police cruisers sit there or up into the embankment of that little "roadway". This is a frequent pull over spot. Beware. 🙂
