Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Speed Traps
I279 S at I79
State troopers will sit everywhere between the bridge (just behind the pillar), and the emergency access median that is 1/4 mi S of I79 and hidden by deliberately planted trees. They usually do this on dry days, as the grass and soil become very soft when wet.
I279 at Cemetery Lane exit
The bridge above I279 provides easy visibility and access to both I279 N and I279 S. Occasionally, a state trooper will sit on the bridge with a radar gun pointed at the highway below.
Rte. 65, ramps between stadiums and 4-lane Ohio River Boulevard
These lanes are essentially highways, two lanes each direction, limited access, on separated and elevated ramps across the North Shore. Most traffic routinely travels 55-65 mph, but the posted limit is 40 mph.
Glennwood Bridge
Cop sits on one end of bridge, they pull you over on the other side.
Route 8 After Highland Park Bridge (Washington Blvd.)
After exiting the Highland Park Bridge onto Rte. 8 (aka Washington Blvd), police occasionally have a trap set between the Highland Park Bridge and Highland Drive. An officer will time you after coming off the bridge and other officers will be waiting for you at the light at Highland Dr. to pull you off the road. This usually occurs a few times a year and is conducted during the late morning/early afternoon.
