Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Speed Traps
Beeler St. (1 block street between Wilkins & Forbes)
Intermittent speed trap set up in response to local complaint. Enforcement of 25 mph speed limit is without regard to traffic conditions or safety considerations.
Penn Hills Entrance Ramp onto 376
As you are entering 376 from Penn HIlls there is a grassy area with some trees that seperate you from the traffic, cops always sit up there between the trees. They get people speeding on 376 and people speeding up the ramp.
I-376 towards Pittsburgh
Patrol car sits behind a blind right-hand turn at the bottom of the hill just before the Oakland exit. I see this a few times each year.
Lowries Run rd at Mt Nebo rd, just off of I279
Ohio township police will sit on Mt Nebo rd, clocking drivers on Lowries Run rd. This is a 35mph zone on a small (but steep) hill, and many drivers drive between 40 and 50mph to get up the hill.
I279 S, on hill before Camp Horne Road exit
Just before the Camp Horne exit, there is a tall hill with no visibility past the hill. Traffic usually flows between 70 and 85mph here (55mph zone). A state trooper will often sit on the invisible side of the hill.
