Chattanooga, Tennessee Speed Traps
Ashland Terrace at St. Jude
A white unmarked van or SUV, sometimes patrol car sits on the Rt. Side of Ashland Terrace as you head from Red Bank area toward Hixson Pike. This is a 4 lane road that is 40 mph but it’s easy to go too fast and they have made a "parking pad" on the rt. side of the road for the purpose of their speed vans/SUV’s.
I-24 East just outside Chattanooga
Numerous construction signs of "Workers" where the speed limit goes from 70 mph to 65 mph or 55 mph or 45 mph; it yo-yos frequently and quickly. There are warning signs of speed reduction but with so many trucks in the right lane and few signs spread far apart, it’s easy to miss one before suddenly being in a reduced speed area. I-24 through Chattanooga downtown is also 45 mph which is very low for an interstate and people don’t realize the low speed limit on that particular interstate.
Jenkins Road between US Express and Standifer Gap
White speed trap camera van parked on grass on east side in bend bend in road on 1/28/11 at 2pm. Shooting south bound traffic. Obviously a good place for it since the 45 mph speed limit is way too low.
