Interstate 440 near Interstate 65

Nashville, TennesseeAug 10, 20070 Comments

Headed east bound on 440 toward the airport and east of 21st ave. exit and I-65 Metro sets up motorbike officers under a tree for shade and they work laser radar. The speed limit is 55 and should be 65. They have a real cash mill at this location.

Brick Church Pike Street near Ewing Drive Street

Nashville, TennesseeJul 31, 20070 Comments

Just south of Ewing Drive on Brick Church Pike is an industrial park area that has little to moderate traffic. I have never observed this roadway to be crowded and dangerous even during the morning rush. Brick Church Pike is wide and almost highway like in this area, however, the posted speed limit is only 40. Metro patrol officers lurk in the few available driveways and behind vegetation with radar and laser pistols "instant on" and nail unsuspecting motorists.

Briley Parkway near Murfreesboro Road

They are sitting right after the exit ramp of murfreesboro road. They get you as you come around the curve. Some times two cars or a single motorcyle and some times both.

Usually has multiple officers working this one, normally shooting eastbound vehicles approaching the Murfreesboro Rd. interchange from I-24, usually a daytime trap.

2nd Avenue near Interstate 40

Nashville, TennesseeJun 21, 20070 Comments

If you are coming up 2nd Ave North, watch out! As you are coming down the hill just past I40 MNPD likes to sit at the bottom of it on the corner of 2nd Ave and Elm St. The posted speed limit is 35 mph, but you will have to keep constant pressure applied to your brakes. If you go above the posted speed limit at any time on this hill, it is already to late. They have already caught you. They will step out in the middle of the road to flag you down. As always they are not interested in talking, or seeing your registration and proof of insurance. They just take your license, write you a ticket, and step back out in the road to wave in their next unsuspecting victim of the speed trap. The motorcycle police are extremly rude, so be careful. By the time that I got my vehicle turned around and headed back up the street they already had two more pulled over. (Approx. 45 sec after I was written up!)
