Nashville, Tennessee Speed Traps

The Police stand outside of their cars with their guns pointing to the top of the hill coming from Briley Parkway catching people speeding coming over the hill or speeding coming down the hill.

Speed limit on Ellington is 55 mph. When Ellington merges onto I-65 North the speed limit reduces to 45 mph for a very short distance, then increases to 65 mph so that motorist can merge with traffic traveling well over 65 mph. Ellington and Briley merge together creating a four lane merge onto I-65 North which contains an additional 5 lanes. The speed limit is clearly posted 45, then it says 65 just afterwards.

Coming from Nolensville Road down Old Hickory Blvd towards Edmondson Pike…..
Coming off this steep hill, you better watch it. Cops are waiting for you at either the Church on the right or at the firestation on the right, at the bottom of the hill.
they will literally walk out right into the road and point you over for a ticket.. I almost hit a car wondering why she was making a dead stop in the road. I swerved over to avoid a wreck. Cops should Not walk right out into the traffic. If they are going to give tickets here, they need to be ready to use their cars to follow the person at a Safe stopping place. Not a dead stop. Definitely a speed trap

Going down I-24, speed limit is 70…Top of hill at Harding levels to 65…..Ramp to Briley Pkwy suddenly falls to 45….Motorcycle cop is almost always there in the early day (9-11am) periods. This is almost Always a speedtrap, as you are having to reduce speed by 20mph. Motorcycle cop is waiting for you in between the median where the concrete wall starts on Briley. this is Before you get to the Murfreesboro Road exit. Beware if you’re coming off I-24 to Briley. They will get you when you least expect it.

Police often hide behind the rock wall about a block off of White Bridge Road.
