Briley Parkway near Exit Number 12

Nashville, TennesseeJun 30, 20060 Comments

Metro police, usually on motorcycles, regularly work in pairs on the stretch of Briley Parkway north of town between the Gallatin Road exit and the Opryland Hotel and Opry Mills Mall. Now that the construction is done and there are about 5 lanes each way, motorists are tempted to violate the 55 MPH speed limit. The officers usually post themselves under the Gallatin Road or McGavock Pike overpass. It’s like shooting fish in a barrel.

Interstate 65 near 440 Bypass

Nashville, TennesseeJun 30, 20060 Comments

On I-65, as you pass under the 440 interchange. The speed drops from 70 to 65 to 55 within 1.5 miles. The speed trap is located at the bottom of a hill approximately 1/4 mile after the speed limit drops from 65 to 55. State patrol uses laser and the troopers are highly aggressive (running into the middle of the highway to point the laser at vehicles).
