Nashville, Tennessee Speed Traps
West End Avenue near Interstate I-440
Late at night, particularly on the weekends (Friday – Sunday evenings from approx. 10/11pm onwards) cops like to hang out in front of the Electronic Express on West End Ave. (2 buildings up from Centennial Park).
Typically there are a minimum of 2/3 cops sitting, with radar guns, on the curb checking everyone coming down from the bars just past the Vandy area but I have frequently seen anywhere between 5 and 8 (yes, 8) cop cars sitting out there at any given time. Not only are they checking speeding but they frequently pull people over to do "random" license checks as well.
Belle Meade Boulevard
The police hide all along the entire length of Belle Meade Boulvard. I’ve seen them behind bushes in the median, in people’s driveways behind bushes, and cruising down the boulvard. I would highly suggest obeying the slow 35mph limit. The police are known to write tickets for doing 3 or 4 over too. I’d suggest not speeding anywhere in Belle Meade actually.
Interstate 65N near Exit Number 80
Right after Exit 80, and as you go North around a right hand bend in the Interstate, Tennessee Highway Patrol awaits, hidden from view, and shoots you with radar. No consideration and everyone caught, regardless of actual speed is issued a ticket for doing 85mph in a 55mph Limit. Also, speed limit changes from 60mph to 55mph as you enter the area.
Interstate 24 near Old Hickory Blvd between I-24 and Nolensville Road
Traveling west on Old Hickory Blvd between I-24 and Nolensville Road, sits on cross streets up near Cane Ridge cross streets, marking speed of a few miles only over speed limit which is 50 mph. Known ticket of 53-56 mph a definite at 59. They loveeeeeeee vets, high profile BMW’s, and sports cars…
