Nashville, Tennessee Speed Traps
Interstate 24 near Davidson County in general
Over the past few months, the Metro Police Department has saturated I-24 with cops. It’s not uncommon to see 2-3 cop cars going in or out of town. I’m pretty sure that the other Interstates are heavily policed as well (Especially I-40, because of the drugs), but I know for a fact that I-24 is usually covered pretty well. They even have a helicopter flying around now for the sole purpose of catching speeders, so if you’re coming through Nashville at all, watch out.
US Highway 40 near White Bridge Road
Metro Police sit under White Bridge Road and at Exit 48 on I-40. They use radar, laser and aircraft enforcement since it is a construction zone and they are forgiving up to 10 mph over the posted 45 mph speed limit. This is all headed west bound. They also sit at the I-40/I-440 split headed east bound doing the same thing.
Briley Parkway near Interstate 40
Along Briley Parway on the east side, they are using a helicopter along with marked cars to catch people speeding through the construction zone from I40 north to I65
Briley Parkway near Opryland
The area around Opryland where Briley opens up into several lanes is now enforced by Helicopters. Do not speed through this area as they are very sneaky.
Briley Parkway near Interstate 40
Briley has at least 2 laser detecters, 1 beside the Opryland Hotel (As well as cops sitting under the overpass at night under the overpass nearest the Opryland hotel) the other laser trap is nearest the onramp from I-40 coming onto Briley going toward the Opry Mills mall, it will be to your immediate right after getting onto briley parkway. There are also about 12 cameras, 4 of which are Photo cameras these are nearest the offramp of I-24 East onto Briley, go about 2 miles and when you hit the construction zone, there are 2 cameras on each side of the parkway. Police also sit on this parkway often. Especially near these overpasses. Keep an EAGLE eye while traveling this area. They are easy to avoid as long as you are watching for them. The police do heavily patrol the Opryland/Opry Mills area. (Radar)
