Fort Worth, Texas Speed Traps
Dottie Lynn Pkwy/Eastchase Pkwy
Usually a motorcycle or two will sit in the Village Creek Park entrance. Village Creek Park is on Dottie Lynn/Eastchase Pkwy about half way between Division and I-30 on the North bound lane.
I-35 & Meacham Blvd. Exit
The Meacham exit runs pretty long before you hit the intersection so there is nothing to slow your speed down. There is always 2 motorcycle units hiding behind the Coors warehouse. They always seem to clock you as soon as you exit.
(South I-35W exiting on Meacham)
East Belknap Street
Entering downtown Fort Worth on E Belknap (off of Airport Freeway or I-35), this trap is run at least a few times a week (I can watch it from my office) with 5-10 cops waving over motorists who pop over the hill exceeding the 35 MPH speedlimit. Typically they’ll shoot the Radar/Lidar from next to the Chevron sign. This is behind the Sonic drive-in parking spaces, so it is very difficult to spot. The speed limit obviously is not set correctly, as I typically stop counting at 50 cars pulled over.
University Drive near Berry Street
On University Drive S., near the intersections of Benbrook Blvd. and Devitt St., 1 or 2 police are strategically located on motorcycles. Every time I have driven near here recently I’ve seen them catch someone – be careful!
West Long Avenue Avenue near West Long Avenue
Motor Cycle Cops in bushes at the bottom of the hill. A quater of mile downhill grade of 35 mile per hour speed limit. Must commence braking at the top of hill to even marginally concede to the limit. Good luck! Eleven forty five am.
