Plano, Texas Speed Traps
Independence Parkway near Dartmouth Drive
One or two Plano motorcycle officers park at the corner of Dartmouth Dr. and Independance Parkway using a handheld laser to shoot the traffic heading southbound on Independence Parkway as the traffic rounds the bend on Independence Parkway just before Dartmouth Dr. BEWARE…The posted speed limit here is 30 MPH, which is totally unreasonable for the area and road conditions.
Dallas North Toll Road Turnpike near Exit Number Just Pass the Legacy exit-on the right
police car waits on the side of the road just past the Legacy exit, which is where traffic seems to speed up a little
Coit Road near McDermott Road
Coit road curves as it heads south from 121 and Frisco. You won’t see the patrol car until you round out the bend. Just north of the intersection of Coit and McDermott, a patrol car will be parked in the median. This occurs during rush hour in the mornings several times a week.
Park Boulevard near Westside Drive
The cops love to hide in the allies at the very end of the walls. So, as your speeding, you’ll see them once they’re out in view from the wall and then of course, it’s too late. They’re serious in this area since it’s right near Plano Senior High School and love to get the students that are speeding back to school from lunch…or whoever else chooses to speed.
Independence Parkway near Park Avenue
Every Saturday and Sunday morning, Plano has an officer parked in the shopping center parking lot that catches you as you come around the corner, south on Independence. The speed limit has dropped from 40 m.p.h to 30 m.p.h. and many motorist are unaware. This is an old speed zone and has not been brought into all of the other speed zones going north or south, east or west. This officer has someone pulled over every morning and I have had two guys that I play golf with given tickets.
