Plano, Texas Speed Traps
Independence Parkway near West Park Boulevard
Going south on Independence Pkwy from West Park Blvd, there is an apartment complex on the right (after a curve in the road) where a police car is stationed. ALL other roads surrounding this area are 40 MPH…but this small stretch on Independence is 30 MPH and the police will get you every time if you are not aware of the drop in the speed limit.
Park Boulevard near Preston Road
A cop will sit on a turn lane in the median and radar all traffic. This is along the entire strip of Park between the Tollway and Preston. I have seen SEVERAL people stopped on my way into work.
Independence Road near Russell Creek Road
There is a school zone on Independence, going north from Hedgecoxe. I have seen a cop car often enough during the school hours. It’s a relatively traffic free road around 3:00pm, so lots of cars disregard the 20 mile speed limit and get caught.
Corporate Drive near Legacy Drive
On Corporate Dr it is curvy and there is a policy car in the left hand turn lane just waiting to get someone. You can’t see the policy car until you get to a certain point on the curve. The speed limit is very low(30 mph) even though it’s not a residential area.
Jupiter Road near Laurel Lane
School Zone – Radar set up for north bound Jupiter Road
from side street – Laurel Lane. At least 3 days per week
2:30 PM to 4 PM.
