Plano, Texas Speed Traps
Parker Road near Northgate Street
From Ohio St. to Coit Rd., going from west to east especially.
McDermott Street near Independence Street
2 police cruisers sit at the Russell Creek YMCA (on McDermott between Independence and Coit) roughly between 2 and 6 pm. The level of enforcement is so high that another coworker and myself pass time by guessing on the number of cars that will be pulled over in any given hour.
Dallas Parkway near Park Boulevard
Going northbound on The Dallas Parkway, between Plano Pkwy., and Park Blvd. I have noticed recently around lunch time, that there is frequently one or two Plano motorcycle cops about 1/4 mile before you get to Park, in the entrance to the Wal-Mart with radar/laser. This is after a long stretch of straight road with no driveways, so people have a tendancy to test their car’s top speed along this stretch…Try to keep it under 80mph.
Cleary Road near Park Boulevard
They hide behind a tree, and If you come from Park Boulevard which is a 40 MPH road and turn into Cleary Rd. (30 MPH) without a sign before the school zone. They use de radar and stop you right away.
Windhaven Parkway near Willow Bend Crossing
This shortcut has a posted speed of 30, and they are frequently busting drivers.
