San Antonio, Texas Speed Traps
Potranco Road near State Highway 151
Between Hunt Lane and Hwy 151 several Bexar County motorcycle units sit in store parking lots every morning
State Highway 281 near Oak Shadows Street
On 281 south, between the Oak Shadows overpass and Bitters Rd., there is almost always a cop sitting behind the concrete wall where the on-ramp is. You will not be able to see him until you are past the on-ramp and look in your rear view mirror. I have seen cops there at all hours of the day and they frequently nab people.
Babcock Road near Hillcrest Drive
On Babcock Road in the area where the road narrows to one lane near Hillcrest Dr. (north of Hillcrest), there is usually always a cop sitting on the one of the side streets very early in the mornings. I’ve seen two cars stopped in a matter of 10 minutes.
Interstate 10 West near UTSA Boulevard
Two Radar police on the overpass.
Sunday afternoon.
Eight cars for arrest.
Commerce Street near Callaghan Road
On Commerce St. between Military Dr. and Callaghan. One marked car generally patrols either in the morning or the afternoon. The speed limit is 45 mph but due to freeway locations the average speed is probably around 50. The officer is very aggresive about pulling over speeders on this stretch of road – I’ve seen him pull over 3 people in half an hour.
