Tyler, Texas Speed Traps
Paluxy Drive
Tyler PD sits on the center lane of Paluxy, south of the loop facing north 100 yards from the loop. Easy to gain speed.
E. 5th Street
Going west from S. Beckham Blvd. crossing the bridge over the tracks, the motorcycle officers like to back up in the shrubs at the bottom of the hill and shoot radar coming from both directions. Posted speed is 35 and is sometimes hard to do even when coasting downhill both ways..
New Copeland Road
Police are not noticed as they are on a motorcycle in a bank parking lot next to the pickup of the school crossing guard. People traveling north on New Copeland Road go over a hill and he radars them on the way down the hill which begins a school zone. He also radars cars turning north from Hubbard Drive which is the category I am in. There is only a short amount of road remaining in the school zone after turning off of Hubbard Drive. I don’t think I could have been going 33 miles an hour at the time he said he captured my speed on the radar. I would have had to really had to accelerate quickly or in other words floorboarded it! I plan to fight the ticket.
Palace/Houston/Vine Intersection Street near Primetime Laundry
Motorcycle cop sits in the primetime laundry parking lot behind the dumpster, usually aiming at those coming down the hill, heading north.
Donnybrook Avenue near Amhurst Drive
As you are heading down Donnybrook going toward ToysRUs A cop car sits in the parking lot of a synagogue (church), on your right. the speed limit is like 30 mph and they will get you. A cop sometimes sits at Winchester Blvd., a street right after the synagogue as well.
