Going west from Beckham crossing the bridge over the tracks, the motorcycle officers like to back up in the shrubs at the bottom of the hill and shoot radar coming from both directions. Posted speed is 35 and is sometimes hard to do even when coasting downhill both ways..
Roy Road near Paluxy Drive
2 motorcycle cops sit behind the trees and catch cars as they round the turn on to a straight away.
Rieck Road near Spring Creek Drive
This friendly motorcycle cop sets up shop regularly during lunch hour just north of the intersection of Rieck Rd and Spring Creek Dr. There is a hill to the east of this intersection and he likes to nab the traffic that has picked up speed coming down the hill. But traffic moving in both directions on Rieck Rd is vulnerable. The speed limit on this residential section of Rieck Rd is 30 mph.
S. Glenwood Boulevard near W. Connally Street
There is a school zone on S. Glenwood just as you pass the water tower. The speed limit is 25 mph until 8:30 a.m. There is often a motorcycle cop, sitting on W. Conally St. on the east side of the intersection of Glenwood (at the bottom of the hill), who nabs motorists who have let gravity get the best of them.
Old Noonday Road near Mosely Street
Old Noonday Rd is a pretty common shortcut from South Glenwood to Highway 155. This ocassional speed trap is typically set up in a gravel area on the east side of the road a few hundred yards south of Mosely St. The speed limit is 30 mph, but the lack of traffic on this road makes speeds in excess of 45 mph common.
